2013 Renault Symbol launched

It is a busy week for Renault as only on Wednesday they revealed the Fluence facelift, while yesterday they launched the 2013 Symbol. In comparison to the outgoing generation which is based on the second-gen Renault Clio, the new Symbol has made the shift to the Dacia Logan platform. There aren’t any major differences between these two cars, but we do notice the front fascia modifications such as the re-sculpted bonnet and Renault’s most recent grille design.

Other than that, the front bumper has also suffered some alterations, while the headlamps are basically the same as seen in the new Logan.

Compared to the car it’s set to replace, the new generation of the Symbol is offered with more equipment, including goodies (depending on the version) such as the firm’s Media Nav multimedia navigation system that comes with a 7-inch touchscreen color display.

When it comes to the engine lineup, under the hood it can be fitted with a 0.9-liter TCe 90 PS three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline unit that manages to return 5.3 liters / 100 km and has CO2 emissions standing at 122 g/km. There are also two diesels in the form of a dCi 75PS and a more powerful dCi 90PS, with fuel consumption rated at just 3.9 liters / 100 km and CO2 emissions of 103 g/km.

The first country to get the 2013 Renault Symbol will be Turkey at the beginning of next year, followed later on by Algeria and Tunisia.
