2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG breaks cover

Mercedes-Benz has recently facelifted the popular E-Class for the 2014 model year but so far we haven’t seen the range-topping E63 AMG version. The German automaker released today a photo of the flagship variant which is scheduled to make its official debut next week at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show. The revised model comes with a significantly more aggressive front fascia featuring those one-piece headlights and a single-bar grille. The interior cabin will most likely suffer some changes, such as an updated instrument cluster, a new trim and restyled air vents to keep the looks fresh for the 2014 model year.

They did not say anything about the engine powering the E63 AMG but previous reports have indicated the hot sedan will retain its V8 5.5-liter twin-turbo engine but will be revised in order to push out no less than 550 HP (405 kW) and a maximum torque of 719 Nm (531 lb-ft). Mercedes-Benz did say the E63 AMG will be optionally available with the firm’s 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.

The German firm will reveal the entire 2014 E-Class lineup on January 14th at NAIAS so check back for further details about the E63 AMG.
