2016 Buick Cascada unveiled in Detroit

The 2016 Buick Cascada has made its world premiere this week at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It’s basically a rebadged variant of the Opel/Vauxhall Cascada as the design has been virtually carried over, except obviously for the badges. It comes with LED-infused headlights along with a fabric roof which can be opened in 17 seconds while driving at speeds of up to 50 km/h (31 mph). It rides on 20-inch rims and has received chrome trim and a sleek rakish windscreen providing the car with an elegant silhouette.

Step inside the cabin and you will notice the upscale materials, metallic accents, heated seats and a rear-entry system which will automatically move the seats forward to grant an easier entrance for rear passengers. The 2016 Buick Cascada also has an IntelliLink infotainment system featuring a seven-inch color touchscreen display and support for a rearview camera. Other equipment included are the lane departure warning system, rain sensing wipers and pop-up rollover bars.

Motivation is provided exclusively by a 4-cyilnder 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine developing 200 bhp (149 kW) and a maximum torque of 280 Nm (206 lb-ft) or 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) with overboost. Power is channeled to the front axle with help from a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Sales of the 2016 Buick Cascada are scheduled to kick off early next year.
