Among the multitude of custom vehicles Ford is exhibiting this week at SEMA is this 1956 F-100 Snakebit which was unveiled together with Gene Simmons (KISS bassist) and his wife, the actress Shannon Tweed. At its heart is a 5.4-liter V8 supercharged engine from Ford Racing packing 550 bhp delivered to the massive 20-inch rear alloys via a six-speed manual gearbox. The vehicle has also gained a high performance aftermarket exhaust system and various styling cues as a reference to classic Shelby Mustang models. Compared to the stock model, this one has a stretched wheelbase extended by five inches.
Other custom-made parts worth mentioning include the headlights as well as the sequential taillights, while the front axle has received 18-inch rims. The interior cabin is home to handmade panels and a special two-tone leather upholstery. Leather was also used for the rear bench which was contoured in such a way to resemble the interior of a Shelby Mustang.
It is important to mention that the car will be auctioned off in 2014 by Barret-Jackson. The money earned at this auction will be given to a children’s hospital located in Canada, specifically in Shannon Tweed’s hometown.
