Nissan BladeGlider concept revealed ahead of Tokyo launch

Nissan has disclosed plans to show this striking concept at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month. The vehicle is known as the BladeGlider and will serve as a preview for an actual production model set to hit dealerships in the near future. This is a rather appealing roadster that has a delta wing shape and an open air cockpit with a three-person seating arrangement that reminds of the iconic McLaren F1. It also boasts a cool aircraft-inspired steering wheel, along with high-tech instrumentation and metallic accents. For the moment there aren’t details about the performance specifications.

However, Nissan mentions the BladeGlider boasts rear in-wheel electric motors which are powered by a lithium-ion battery pack. The concept features a 30:70 front/rear weight distribution and benefits from a structurally optimized chassis covered in carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP).
