2015 Subaru WRX STI rumored to have 304 HP

Earlier this week we brought you a couple of pictures allegedly depicting the upcoming Subaru WRX and now we have learned from Aussie media that the car in Australian specification will be packing a 4-cylinder, 2.5-liter turbocharged engine. The power unit will reportedly generate 265 HP (195 kW) and a maximum torque of 243 lb-ft (330 Nm) in the standard WRX and 304 HP (224 kW) and 290 lb-ft (393 Nm) in the range-topping WRX STI variant. Motoring.com.au obtained the precious information and they are citing company insiders who also said the STI will have a big rear spoiler and a more aggressive body kit.

The 2015 Subaru WRX will be shown to the public on November 20 at the Los Angeles Auto Show and chances are the more powerful STI will be officially revealed in January at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Both cars will benefit from a torque vectoring system which will be capable of individually applying pressure to the brakes.
