The model is being showcased together with the 2015 Corvette Z06 which will go on sale towards the end of the 2014. Motivation is provided by an upgraded variant of the 5.5-liter V8 naturally-aspirated engine mounted inside its predecessor, the C6.R. Chevrolet says output of the engine will increase from the current 485 bhp but even so the car will be considerably less powerful compared to the aforementioned Z06 which offers a minimum of 625 bhp from a 6.2-liter V8 LT4 engine.
