Alfa Romeo finally unveils 2016 Giulia

Alfa Romeo has finally taken the wraps of the much-awaited 2016 Giulia which represents their first new model in a very long time. It is being showcased in the flagship Quadrifoglio trim which adopts a more aggressive body  with beefy bumpers, extended side skirts, ventilated hood and front fender vents. It also has some prominent character lines and large alloy wheels hiding a high-performance braking system. It also comes with a rear diffuser and a trunk-mounted spoiler while the quad exhaust setup further indicates we are dealing with a hot compact sedan.

Underneath the hood resides a Ferrari-developed 3.0-liter, six-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine pushing out 510 PS (375 kW) which represents enough muscle to allow the 2016 Giulia hit 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in only 3.9 seconds. It will come as standard with a rear-wheel drive layout, but at an additional cost you will be able to get an AWD system for better traction.

Alfa Romeo says their new hot sedan has a perfect 50:50 weight distribution and comes with a carbon fiber roof, hood and propeller shaft while some of the other components are made from aluminum to keep the weight down as much as possible. It has received a torque vectoring system and according to Alfa the 2016 Giulia is going to offer the “most direct steering on the market.”
