Landwind X7 launched in China as a Range Rover Evoque clone

The Landwind X7 has been launched in China and will be available on order starting next month. As you can see, it’s clearly a copy of the Range Rover Evoque, but the company isn’t facing any legal issues whatsoever as Land Rover has decided not to sue them because the laws in China regarding intellectual property are quite rudimentary. The X7 shouldn’t really be a concern because it’s more than three times cheaper than the Evoque which means there’s virtually no competition between the original model and this knockoff.

The Landwind X7 is a very well equipped crossover as it packs a lot of standard goodies like a reversing camera, electric parking brake, 10.2-inch touchscreen, heated mirrors, climate control system, GPS & Bluetooth as well as keyless entry & start and cruise control. There’s also a more expensive version available which adds an 8-speaker sound system, leather and heated electrically-adjustable seats, a large sunroof, lane departure warning system and a tire pressure monitoring system.

Underneath the hood is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine borrowed from Mitsubishi which develops 190 bhp and 250 Nm sent to the front axle or to an all-wheel drive system via a standard six-speed manual gearbox or an optional six-speed automatic transmission.
