Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe goes official ahead of Frankfurt Motor Show launch

The wait is finally over as Mercedes-AMG has taken the wraps off the C63 Coupe. It’s programmed to go on sale next March and will be available exclusively with a twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter engine offered in two states of tune: 476 PS (469 bhp / 349 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque in the standard model and 510 PS (503 bhp / 375 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque if you upgrade to the hotter S version. Both cars share a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT gearbox and wear an aggressive body featuring an aluminum-made powerdome hood, along with a beefy diffuser hosting a quad exhaust system.

In terms of performance, the standard variant will run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 4 seconds on its way to an electronically-capped maximum speed of 155 mph (250 km/h) which can be increased to 180 mph (290 km/h) if you go for the optional Driver’s Package. The more powerful S version is obviously quicker as it runs the sprint in 3.9 seconds and has the same two top speeds.

Both versions of the C63 Coupe have received a bespoke AMG rear end with a specifically developed axle carrier, higher negative chamber, limited slip differential, an AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension and if you go for the S version that one also has dynamic engine mounts.
