Rolls-Royce takes the wraps off Dawn drophead

The Rolls-Royce Dawn drophead has finally debuted in production form, prior to a public reveal set for next week at IAA in Frankfurt. It’s basically an open-top version of the Wraith coupe, but according to RR it comes with 80% new body details, including a long hood, high shoulder line, shorter front overhang and longer rear overhang while the front bumper was extended by 53mm compared to the coupe. In addition, the large radiator front grille is actually recessed by approximately 45 mm while in the back we notice the boat-influenced look with a wooden roof deck that is available in several finishes.

As far as the 2+2 interior is concerned, it comes with a plethora of leather and wood surfaces along with a four-zone climate control system, 16-speaker sound system and an electrically retractable roof which needs about 20 seconds to open or close at speeds of up to 31 mph (50 km/h).

Underneath the hood resides a V12 6.6-liter bi-turbo engine pushing out 563 bhp and 780 Nm of torque which is enough for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in just 4.9 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 155 mph (250 km/h).

Sales of the model are programmed to kick off early next year.
