Manhart extracts 700 PS from BMW X5 M

German tuner Manhart has taken the wraps off a modified BMW X5 M that now packs more power than ever. Focus was primarily on the V8 twin-turbo 4.4-liter engine that has been massaged to deliver more oomph as output has been bumped from the series 575 PS (423 kW) and 750 Nm (554 lb-ft) to 700 PS (515 kW) at 6,500 rpm and 900 Nm (665 lb-ft) from 5,700 rpm. This was achieved by optimizing the engine’s software as well as mounting an aftermarket exhaust system that has dual 100-mm tips, stainless steel mufflers (with valve control) and custom downpipes.

The upgrade is available for €7,500 (+ mounting) and it also includes an electronic top speed limiter removal to allow the BMW X5 M hit 196 mph (315 km/h). At an additional cost, the high-performance SAV from Bavaria can receive a set of BBS SV 22-inch alloys with Vredestein Ultrac Vorti 295/30 ZR22 front and 335/25 ZR 22 tires available for € €4,284. There’s also a set of H&R lowering springs priced at €1,188 which will lower the vehicle by 35 mm.

The only change we notice on the inside is the AWRON display (€799) that has replaced the central-left air vent.
