Audi A3 1.6 TDI ultra announced

Audi has introduced a frugal version of the A3 which paves the way for upcoming eco-friendly “ultra” models that will join the lineup of the Ingolstadt-based automaker in the near future, promising to slash CO2 emissions and lower fuel consumption. This particular A3 is being characterized as Audi’s most fuel-efficient production model on sale today.

It’s available both as a three-door coupe or as a five-door hatchback and comes with the S line side skirts, longer final drive ratio, 15mm reduced ride height, as well as 16-inch rims shod in low-rolling resistance tires.

Under the hood of the Audi A3 1.6 TDI ultra is a diesel 1.6-liter TDI engine producing 110 HP (81 kW). The car tips the scales at 2,656 lbs (1,205 kg) and can achieve the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 10.5 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 124 mph (200 km/h). More importantly, the car will return an impressive 73.5 mpg US (88.2 mpg UK or 3.2 liters / 100 km) with CO2 emissions standing at 85 g/km.

The vehicle is scheduled to hit the market next month, with pricing in Germany starting at 25,200 euros.
