Opel Adam receives LPG version

Opel’s funky little city car, the Adam, is now available in a frugal version that can run on LPG. The 1.4 LPG ecoFLEX Adam offers a modest 87 HP (64 kW) which should be enough for city use where the car usually spends its time.

When running on liquefied petroleum gas, the car will have a fuel consumption of 6.9 liters / 100 km (41 mpg UK or 34 mpg US) while CO2 emissions will stand at 112 g/km.

Opel has installed the LPG tank under the floor at the back of the car which means the cargo capacity has remained the same.

The LPG tank of this Adam can hold 35 liters which should grant the car with a range of around 310 miles (500 km) in the combined cycle. Together with the gasoline engine, the Adam’s total range increases to an impressive 745 miles (1,200 km).

Opel says the car can already be ordered at home in Germany where it has a base price tag of 16,150 euro, taking into account VAT.
