Ford S-MAX Concept unveiled

Ford is about to introduce the second generation of the S-MAX but before they do that let’s take a look at this preview concept which will be publicly unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. It will adopt the recent front grille seen on the new generation of the Mondeo/Fusion, as well as on the facelifted Fiesta. In other words, the front of the car looks a bit like an Aston Martin, while either styling highlights include a curved roof line, steeply raked windscreen, spoiler mounted on the roof, beefy multi-spoke rims and muscular fenders.

Inside there’s room for four people plus an additional center-rear seat that can be easily folded to increase cabin space. The Ford S-MAX Concept has been equipped with a new version of the Ford Sync system that can automatically monitor the health status of those inside the cabin by using the heart-rate and glucose mounted within the seats.

Under the hood there’s a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine which we already know puts out 178 bhp (133 kW) and a peak torque of 240 Nm (177 lb-ft).
