Land Rover shows facelifted Discovery

You are looking at the mildly facelifted Land Rover Discovery which has received a minor nip and tuck to its front grille and bumper, along with redesigned headlights featuring built-in LED daytime running lights. There’s no more “Land Rover” badging on the bonnet as they’ve decided to opt for the “Discovery” lettering, while the alloy wheels have a fresh new design. Power comes from the familiar SDV6 3.0-liter engine churning 256 HP (188 kW) at 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 442 lb-ft (600 Nm) reached at 2,000 rpm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox from ZF.

It should be mentioned that the power unit’s CO2 emissions have been reduced from 230 g/km to 213 g/km, while at the same time fuel economy has jumped to 29.3 mpg US (35.3 mpg UK or 8 liters / 100 km). Tipping the scales at a considerable 5,665 lbs (2,570 kg), the 2014 Discovery needs 8.8 seconds until 60 mph (96 km/h) and can achieve a maximum speed of 112 mph (180 km/h).
