Audi RS5 TDI concept revealed

The TDI engine has reached its 25th anniversary and Audi thought that it would be a good idea to celebrate this milestone by introducing the RS5 TDI concept at 2014 AMI Leipzig. The concept is based on the RS5 Coupe but it has ditched the V8 4.2-liter gasoline engine in favor of a TDI 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo that benefits from an electrically-driven supercharger which they say can virtually eliminate turbo lag. The engine is capable of outputting 385 PS and a maximum torque of 750 Nm sent to a quattro AWD system with help from an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Thanks to this hardware arrangement, the Audi RS5 TDI concept can sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4 seconds before hitting a top speed of more than 174 mph (280 km/h). More impressive is the fuel consumption which stands at just four liters / 100 km.
