Audi S8 Plus breaks cover with 605 PS

The Audi S8 Plus has made its debut online and will be going on sale towards the end of November. It’s the most powerful S8 ever after the engineers tweaked its 4.0 TFSI engine and squeezed a total of 605 PS and 700 Nm of torque, with 750 Nm available when overboost is activated. The full-size sedan from Ingolstadt now needs just 3.8 seconds for the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run and will do an electronically-capped 155 mph (250 km/h) but upon request the limiter can be raised to 190 mph (305 km/h), thus making it one of the quickest Audis on sale today.

Compared to the regular S8, this Plus version can be visually distinguished by its body-colored spoiler lip at the back made from carbon fiber while a glossy black look has been applied onto the single-frame grille and the double bars in the front fascia. As for the honeycomb pattern of the side air inlets and radiator screen, these come in matte black and the car gets standard matrix LED headlights with dynamic turn signals.

Stepping inside the cabin, the Audi S8 Plus features full black leather upholstery with red stitching along with a piano black center console and a stainless steel footrest. The vehicle has been fitted with numerous goodies including the Alcantara package, DVD/CD changer, power-assisted door closing, ambient lighting and a convenience key featuring sensor-driven trunk closing.

At home in Germany, the Audi S8 Plus will carry a starting price of €145,200.
