Audi unleashes Prologue Allroad concept with 734 PS

Audi has released images and details concerning the brand new Prologue Allroad concept which will receive its world premiere next week at Auto Shanghai 2015. It’s 5.13 meters long and it is actually 77mm higher than the Prologue Avant concept so it’s safe to say we are dealing with one of the biggest wagons ever made. It’s not ready yet for production but most likely it serves as a sneak preview for a series production Avant model coming before the end of the decade and likely taking the shape of the next generation A6 allroad.

Motivation is provided by a TFSI 4.0-liter engine featuring two turbochargers along with an electric motor that has been built into the 8-speed tiptronic gearbox. This hardware arrangement grants a massive combined output of 734 PS (540 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque which is enough muscle to allow the Audi Prologue Allroad concept sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.5 seconds.

It needs just 2.4 liters / 100 km and has CO2 emissions of only 56 g/km while the 14.1 kWh lithium-ion battery provides the Prologue Allroad concept with an electric range of 54 km (34 miles). The battery pack can be charged inductively thanks to the on-board AWC – Audi wireless charging technology.
