Citroen C1 Connexion announced

A new special edition of the Citroen C1 city car has been introduced the other day by the French carmaker, and it has a starting price of 9,495 pounds. The car is the result of an input provided by Facebook users that were invited to share their ideas regarding how should the C1 look like and also the type of equipment it should feature. This final configuration of the car is based on the most popular design chosen from more than 24,000 design ideas posted on the social networking website. This method of creating a special edition with the help of Facebook users is not entirely new as other carmakers, including Aston Martin, have developed limited-run models based on the preferences of Facebook users.

The Citroen C1 Connexion is powered by a small 1.0-liter gasoline engine which is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, allowing the city car to return 65.7 mpg UK and have CO2 emissions of only 99 g/km. Some of the standard equipment include four airbags, ABS, air conditioning and LED daytime running lights.

This special C1 rides on 14-inch alloy wheels and wears an elegant Caldera Black metallic paint with contrasting Scarlet red detailing on the mirrors, door handles and also for the rear number plate surround. Scarlet Red highlights can also be noticed inside the cabin, along with Scarlet Red door sills, carpet mats and center console, with red surrounds on the air vents, door trims and for the electric window buttons. In addition, it also comes with a red speedometer and rev-counter.

The 3-door version of the Citroen C1 Connexion starts from 9,495 pounds, while the 5-door model will cost you at least 9,845 pounds. This means that the special edition C1 is 500 pounds more expensive in comparison to the VTR trim, but the advantage would have to be that the added goodies are worth 925 pounds so you will be saving 425 pounds.
