Citroen has applied a mild facelift on its DS3 premium supermini as well as its open-top DS3 Cabrio sibling. The main novelty is a fresh set of headlights using xenon and LED modules along with sequential indicators. The design of these headlights is sourced from the company’s Numero 9 and Wild Rubis concepts and compared to regular halogen headlights these last about 20x more and are also 35 more energy efficient in dipped mode. When using the high beams, the headlights are 75 percent more efficient and should last for approximately 20,000 hours.
The Citroen DS3/DS3 Cabrio facelift will be available with Blue HDi 100 and Blue HDi 120 that are both Euro 6-compliant. In some markets, Citroen will sell the cars with a PureTech e-VTi 82 ETG which also meets the Euro 6 requirements that will come into effect in September. Opt for the fixed roof DS3 and you also get fresh diamond-cut 17-inch alloy wheels, while all cars can now be painted in a Belle-Ile Blue hue.
