Fiat Fullback medium-duty pickup revealed at Dubai Motor Show

The Fiat Fullback medium-duty pickup truck has made its world debut at the Dubai Motor Show. If the styling seems familiar, that’s because this is essentially a rebadged variant of the Mitsubishi L200 / Triton, so it has the same size, body panels and interior cabin. It is scheduled to go on sale in May 2016 in the EMEA region and will be able to provide a maximum payload capacity of 1,100 kg. Fiat has plans on selling the Fullback in various body styles, as follows: single cab, extended cab, double cab and chassis. All will be 1,780 mm tall, 1,815 mm wide and will share a 3,000 mm wheelbase.

In single cab configuration, the Fiat Fullback is going to be 5,155 mm long while the extended cab version will be 5,275 mm long, followed by the double cab body style at 5,285 mm. The versions sold in Africa and the Middle East will use a 2.4-liter gasoline engine with 132 PS and a 2.5-liter turbodiesel offered with 110 PS and 178 PS, with both motors linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

As for the Euro-spec Fiat Fullback, this one will be offered with a 2.4-liter turbodiesel producing 150 PS and 180 PS connected to a new 6-speed or an optional 5-speed automatic that will have a sports mode. Depending on region, the model will be offered with a rear-wheel drive layout and a 4×4 arrangement.
