Ford shows the 2013 Mondeo wagon and liftback

Ford has unveiled the all-new Euro-spec 2013 Mondeo several days ago during an event organized in Holland. As most people were expecting, this is essentially a rebadged version of the U.S.-spec Fusion only with different engine choices. Besides showing the sedan version, the Blue Oval company also showcased the wagon and five-door liftback models which have been created specifically for the European market so slim chances of seeing them on North American roads.

The ones that will be sold in Europe are going to be available with the company’s 3-cylinder 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine with 123 HP and 125 lb-ft, among the regular engine lineup.

An interesting novelty is the availability of the first hybrid passenger car from Ford in Europe, the Mondeo HEV that will be sold only as a sedan. This model will be available with a 2.0-liter gasoline unit and a 35 kW lithium-ion battery. There’s also going to be a diesel-powered AWD version, another first for the Mondeo.
