Holden launches Commodore Craig Lowndes SS V special edition

Aside from introducing the 2015 VF Commodore, Holden has also taken the wraps off the Commodore Craig Lowndes SS V special edition which will be built in a limited series of 233 cars. The vehicle was created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Craig Lowndes’ presence in V8 Supercars and it’s based on the 2015 SS V Redline. More than half of the cars have already been ordered and the vehicle will be distinguished by a black look for the 20-inch rims, hood stripes and grille. It comes with Bridgestone Potenza tires and has been fitted with a black roof, body side graphics and a spoiler on the trunk.

Customers will be able to purchase the vehicle with either a Red Hot or Heron White exterior paint scheme combined with a bespoke interior featuring special sill plates, an individually-numbered plaque while on the dashboard there will be Craig Lowndes’ signature.


Under the hood is a V8 6.0-liter engine delivering 362 bhp and 530 Nm of torque sent to the wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox or an optional automatic transmission that comes with paddle shifters installed on the steering wheel. The vehicle also comes equipped with four-piston Brembo brakes and a sport-tuned suspension system.
