Hyundai UK introduces Veloster Turbo SE, priced at 21,995 pounds

The Veloster Turbo SE will be arriving in Hyundai’s dealerships in the United Kingdom next month. Scheduled to rival cars such as the Vauxhall Astra GTC and the Volkswagen Scirocco, the hot version of the Veloster has a starting price of 21,995 pounds.

The 1.6-liter GDI engine has been fitted with a twin-scroll turbocharger that has increased the output of the power unit to 184 hp and a peak torque of 195 lb.-ft.

Thanks to this upgrade, the Veloster Turbo SE is capable of running the 0-62 mph sprint in only 8.4 seconds, en route to a maximum speed of 133 mph. It is able to return 40.9 mpg UK and has CO2 emissions of 157 g/km.

The twin-scroll turbocharger isn’t the only modification brought over the standard Veloster as the Turbo SE also comes with firmer dampers which should provide a better body control and make the vehicle more suitable for European drivers. Compared to the naturally-aspirated model, the Veloster Turbo is easily identifiable thanks to its front grille, bumpers, exhaust and the rear diffuser. Also new are the “Turbo” badges spread all over the car, while the last visual modification would have to be the addition of new 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin, the Hyundai Veloster Turbo SE comes with new leather seats, a better sound system and also a satellite navigation system; with all of these being offered as standard equipment for the base model. Needless to say, additional goodies are available for extra money.
