Kia Cadenza launched in Detroit

Kia has introduced the mid-size Cadenza sedan at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Set to tackle the Toyota Avalon and Buick LaCrosse, the Cadenza comes with Kia’s now familiar tiger nose front fascia and various chrome trim finishes. The back of the car shows LED taillights and a dual exhaust setup. Inside it gets an eight-inch touchscreen display featuring GPS navigation and UVO eServices, along with a 12-speaker Infiniti sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control and leather upholstery. The optional Premium Package adds Nappa leather seats, digital instrument cluster and a panoramic sunroof.

The 2013 Kia Cadenza is powered exclusively by a V6 GDI 3.3-liter engine capable of outputting 293 hp (218 kW) and a peak torque of 345 Nm (255 lb-ft). Power is transferred to the front wheels through a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The vehicle rides on 19-inch alloys and comes with various safety equipment such as a lane departure warning system, advanced smart cruise control, electric parking brake and a blind spot detection system.

It will be available in the United States in Q2 this year at a yet unknown price tag, but it will be announced close to the car’s launch.
