McLaren MP4-12C Can-Am GT costs 375,000 pounds

Set to enter production phase next March, McLaren will only build “no more than 30” units of its MP4-12C Can-Am GT which costs 375,000 pounds. This is the production version of the concept shown earlier this year at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. We are dealing with only a track-day car since it is not homologated for road use. Inspired by the GT3 racing version, this more hardcore edition of the MP4-12C comes with a more aggressive aerodynamic kit that promises to provide an additional 30 percent of downforce. It has a new huge rear wing, prominent front spoiler, with both made from carbon fiber.

Moving inside the cabin we find an FIA-approved race-spec full rollcage, six-point seatbelts, black race seat and the steering wheel of the aforementioned GT3 version. Although this is a proper race car, it does come with air-conditioning to keep the drivers cool while racing. At the heart of the MP4-12C Can-Am GT is a mid-mounted, twin-turbo V8 3.8-liter engine that delivers 630 HP thanks to its bespoke calibration and an optimized cooling system.
