Mercedes-Benz Vision Golf Cart revealed

At this year’s edition of the Open Championship, Mercedes-Benz has decided to do something a bit different than their regular cars and came up with an interesting design study of a golf cart. It’s known as the Vision Golf Cart and has been developed by the company’s design department located in Carlsbad, California. It won’t reach production but it’s still interesting to see what the brains at Mercedes-Benz are considering to be a golf cart of the future. As you would imagine, it’s powered by an electric motor, while the battery pack can be manually charged or via a solar module mounted on the roof.

The Mercedes-Benz Vision Golf Cart can also be controlled by the front passenger since instead of a left-mounted steering wheel there’s a joystick installed on the center console. Speaking of the console, it’s also home to a rotatable docking station with support for USB, iPod and iPad. From this area the people sitting in the front can control the head-up display, sound system and air conditioning system, as well as communication with the clubhouse or other golf carts. The golf cart also has lightweight doors which can be easily attached thanks to the click-in function.
