Mercedes GLC Coupe rendered as production model

The Mercedes GLC Coupe has been rendered in production guise by independent artist RM Design. He used as foundation official images of the concept that was unveiled earlier this year at Auto Shanghai and made a few changes here and there to turn the compact crossover coupe into what could possibly be a car ready to be made. The real deal will look a lot like this when it will be launched in the first half of next year and will join the company’s other model of this type, the bigger GLE Coupe.

By altering the roofline to make it more sloped towards the back, rear headroom is going to decrease and there’s also going to be less space in the trunk where the different shape of the rear end will have a negative impact on the cargo capacity which will decrease from the GLC’s 580 liters with the seats up and 1,600 liters once you fold them down.

The engine lineup and gearboxes will be borrowed from the regular GLC, all the way up to a twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter which will power the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 Coupe. Until the range-topping version comes out, expect the standard model to be unveiled early next year, following the release of the GLS before the end of 2015.
