MINI John Cooper Works Hardtop arrives in Detroit with $30,600 price tag

The MINI John Cooper Works Hardtop has arrived in Detroit at 2015 NAIAS with a $30,600 price tag, excluding the extra $850 destination & handling charges. The hot hatchback wears a significantly more aggressive body enhanced by the revised front fascia packing bigger air intakes as well as honeycomb grille inserts while aero-optimized side skirts and a spoiler mounted on the tailgate complete the look. Other distinguishable exterior features include the redesigned rear bumper, centrally positioned exhaust system, LED headlights and 17-inch alloy wheels developed specifically for this version.

On the inside it gets sport seats wrapped around in Dinamica / fabric, along with stainless steel pedals, sport steering wheel, revised instrumentation, piano black trim and special sill plates with the “John Cooper Works” lettering.


The MINI John Cooper Works Hardtop comes with a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine rated at 228 bhp (170 kW) & 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. It’s enough to grant the vehicle with a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) run in 5.9 seconds and a 153 mph (246 km/h) top speed. MINI has installed a high-performance braking system, sport-tuned suspension as well as an electronic differential lock control system.
