Mitsubishi Outlander Sport facelift revealed in Los Angeles

The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport facelift has made its North American debut at the ongoing Los Angeles Auto Show. Starting on the outside, the biggest change is a new take on the corporate Dynamic Shield front fascia and you will also notice the restyled mirrors incorporating LED turn signals. It has also gained new 18-inch alloy wheels and slightly modified lip wheel moldings, but nothing really of great importance. On the inside it comes with revised seat fabrics, a new steering wheel and an upgraded 6.1-inch Display Audio System along with an auto-dimming rearview mirror featuring Homelink functionality.

In terms of engines, the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport facelift can be fitted with a 2.0-liter inline-four producing 148 bhp (110 kW) and a maximum torque of 196 Nm (145 lb-ft). If this sounds weak, you can upgrade to a bigger 2.4-liter rated at 168 bhp (125 kW) and 226 Nm (167 lb-ft). Mitsubishi is selling a five-speed manual and a continuously variable transmission, depending on engine choice.

The starting price has remained unchanged despite the updates, so you will be able to get the crossover for as little as $19,595 for the entry-level version with the 2.0-liter motor. All cars have 7 airbags, tire pressure monitoring system, hill start assist and keyless entry.
