Mitsubishi unveils Lancer Evolution X Final Concept

Mitsubishi has taken the virtual wraps off the Lancer Evolution X Final Concept which will be shown in the flesh next month at Tokyo Auto Salon. Previewing the last hurrah for the Evo, the concept adopts a sinister matte black exterior paint scheme and comes with a glossy finish on the rear spoiler and roof so the visual changes are far from being impressive. What really matters is under the hood where the familiar 2.0-liter engine has received a plethora of upgrades, starting with a turbocharger provided by HKS along with a new exhaust system and a new intake while the ECU has been remapped.

As a result of making these tweaks, the engine powering the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Final Concept now delivers a whopping 480 HP (353 kW) which makes it the most powerful four-cylinder engine. All that horsepower is channeled to the wheels through a five-speed manual transmission while other goodies on the menu include RAYS 19-inch forged aluminum wheels and a HKS height-adjustable sports suspension.
