Opel Karl officially revealed

The 2015 Opel Karl / Vauxhall Viva has received its online debut and will go on sale next year. Designed to be an entry-level model, the Karl gets its name from one of the company founder’s sons while Viva has been selected for the Vauxhall-badged moniker as a reference to a previous city car offered by the British marque. The vehicle has an overall length of 3680mm and is going to be available with a variety of alloy wheels in sizes from 14 to 16 inches. Clients will have to opt from one of the ten body paints on offer but don’t expect the level of personalization to match the more posh Adam model.

Stepping inside the cabin, the 2015 Opel Karl can be equipped with a sunroof, heated front seats, cruise control, heated front seats, lane departure warning, park assist and a city mode for the steering system which upon activation will diminish the driver’s effort. In addition, the city car will be available with an IntelliLink infotainment system packing a touchscreen display.

Motivation will be provided exclusively by a three-cylinder naturally aspirated 1.0-liter gasoline engine producing 75 HP (55 kW) and working together with a 5-speed manual transmission. The 2015 Opel Karl / Vauxhall Viva has a chassis revised to deliver “exceptional safety and comfort” and promises to provide a refined ride thanks to an electronic stability control system, hill start assist and traction control.

Deliveries will kick off mid-2015 and the starting price will be of less than €10,000.
