Subaru WRX STI gains additional HP and receives a price cut

Those interested in buying the Subaru WRX STI will be happy to hear that the car has received a welcomed price cut and it’s also available with a new power boost. Prices start from 26,995 pounds and it can be financed at under 300 pounds / month. For 1,599 pounds more clients can get the hot sedan with the 340R power upgrade that adds 40 PS and 83 Nm more than the standard model, meaning that the vehicle outputs 340 PS and 490 Nm of torque. To get this power increase Subaru’s engineers have tweaked the ECU of the 4-cylinder, 2.5-liter horizontally-opposed engine, as well as installing a new exhaust system. After the power kit is installed, the WRX STI can perform the 0-62 mph sprint in 4.7 seconds, making it 0.5 seconds faster than the standard model.

Just like other WRX STI models launched by Subaru, this one too (340R) comes with the company’s well-known AWD technology, along with a fully independent front/rear suspension and a Torsen rear differential, all wrapped around in the practicality of a four-door sedan. Let’s not forget that the Subaru WRX STI is also offered in the United Kingdom with the less powerful 320R kit that provides 320 PS and 450 Nm, an upgrade package that was introduced last year.
