Tesla Model S P85D comes out with 691 bhp AWD setup

Tesla Motors is proud to announce a new range-topping variant of the Model S called “P85D”. It comes with a front-mounted electric motor packing 211 bhp and 244 lb-ft. It works combined with the regular rear-mounted electric motor that has 470 bhp and 443 lb-ft so now the electric sedan has an impressive combined output of 691 bhp and 687 lb-ft of torque. It’s enough for a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) run in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

The vehicle needs 11.8 seconds to complete the quarter mile while the maximum range stands at 275 miles while driving at 65 mph. By installing an electric motor at the front, the weight of the Tesla Model S has increased by 132 kg to 2,239 kg which is being distributed in a perfect 50:50.

Tesla Motor has also introduced the Model S 60D which gets a 188 bhp electric front motor working with the same 470 bhp rear-mounted motor. It sprints to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds and tops out at 125 mph while the range stands at 225 miles. There’s also a Model S 85D which needs 5.2 seconds until 60 mph on its way to a top speed of 155 mph, with the maximum range standing at 295 miles.
