Tesla Model S priced in Germany from 71,400 euros

Tesla Motors started delivering the Model S in the United States back in June this year, while in Europe it is expected to reach customers in the following weeks. While U.S. gets all three battery versions of the Model S: 40 kWh, 60 kWh and 85 kWh, in Europe the entry-level variant will not be offered, at least in the beginning. In Germany, the 60 kWh Model S has a starting price of 71,400 EUR (about 94,370 USD), which makes it a lot more expensive than it is in the U.S. where it costs 67,400 USD, before taking into consideration the 7,500 USD tax rebate. The flagship Signature Performance version will cost you a steep 109,150 EUR (about 143,700 USD).

In The Netherlands, the 60 kWh begins from 72,600 EUR while the 85 kWh variant has a starting price of 83,150 EUR. The range-topping Signature Performance is listed at 110,950 EUR. As you can see, prices vary according to market but the general rule is that in Europe the Model S is a lot more expensive than in the U.S.

The only good news that we can give to European buyers is that if you place an order before the end of the year you will benefit from a 1,700 EUR (2,230 USD) discount on the pretax price.
