Toyota GT 86 Sedan concept heading to Dubai Motor Show

It was less than a month ago when we talked about the possibility of seeing a sedan version of the Toyota GT 86 Coupe and it appears that it will happen sooner than originally believed. The official Facebook account of the Dubai International Motor Show made a surprising announcement by saying a GT 86 Sedan Concept will be showcased tomorrow when the auto event will officially kick off. Chances are a production model will come out in 2014 or 2015 and will have several modifications, aside from the two additional rear doors.

Rumors around the web are indicating the car will have a 100mm (3.9 inches) longer wheelbase to improve backseat room while power will come from the same familiar 200 bhp 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine which has a peak torque of 205 Nm. Interestingly, there could also be a hybrid version based on the powertrain seen in the Yaris Hybrid-R concept. In this version, the GT 86 Sedan will reportedly have 268 bhp and at the same time will be approximately 15 percent more frugal.
