Toyota prepares 86 Blackline Edition for Australia

Toyota’s Australian division has taken the wraps off the 86 Blackline Edition of which 450 units will ever be made. This new special model takes cues from the world of rallying and wears a White Liquid exterior paint scheme adorned with black stripes applied onto the roof and hood. The vehicle has also been pampered with a TRD body kit that encompasses a new front spoiler, three-piece rear spoiler, modified side skirts and a sportier look for the rear bumper. All the cars come as standard with HID headlights combined with LED daytime running lights while inside the cabin there’s a smart keyless entry setup.

Speaking of the interior, it also has a two-tone look only this time the black applied on the seats is mixed up with red Alcantara inserts. The 86 Blackline Edition can be distinguished on the inside by its stainless steel door sill plates and a generous array of standard kit like a 6.1-inch infotainment system, dual-zone climate control system, rearview camera and GPS.

Power comes from the familiar 4-cylinder 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine with 197 bhp and 151 lb-ft sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual or an optional 6-speed automatic. Toyota says they will make 250 cars with the manual at a starting price of $37,990 AUD while the other 200 units will come with the automatic at $40,490 AUD.
