Volvo launches S60L T6 Twin Engine

Volvo has announced plans to host the world premiere of the S60L T6 Twin Engine next week at Auto Shanghai 2015 in China. The model is programmed to go on sale locally on April 22 and will use a plug-in hybrid system encompassing a 4-cylinder Drive-E 2.0-liter engine working together with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack which has a capacity of 11.2 kWh. Thanks to this hardware arrangement, the Swedish sedan will be able to offer a combined output of 306 PS (225 kW) and 550 Nm (405 lb-ft) of torque which should be more than enough for most drivers.

The Volvo S60L T6 Twin Engine will be capable of travelling solely on electric power for as much as 53 km (32.9 miles) before the battery pack is depleted. Once this happens, it will take three and a half hours to fully recharge the batteries. Volvo says the model will have CO2 emissions of just 49 g/km (based on EU regulations for off-vehicle charged vehicles).
