Volvo V60 Polestar concept arriving in L.A. next week

Volvo has announced that next week at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show they will bring the V60 Polestar concept. The car was initially presented back in June featuring a conservative body kit, 19-inch Polestar alloys and a sport-tuned suspension. Other goodies include high-performance brakes, Öhlins shock absorbers and larger anti-roll bars.

Motivation comes from a 6-cylinder engine fitted with a Garret 3171 turbocharger and benefiting from modified combustion chambers, a new cylinder head, a Ferrita stainless steel exhaust system and an upgraded air intake.

After all these modifications are made, the power unit is capable of producing 508 hp and a peak torque of 424 lb-ft. The power boost is enough to propel the Volvo V60 Polestar concept to 62 mph in only 3.9 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 186 mph.

Although it’s known that the Swedish automaker is considering putting the vehicle into production, there aren’t any official details to confirm this. An announcement could be made in L.A next week.
