2013 Alpina B3 Bi-Turbo preliminary info available

BMW tuner and manufacturer Alpina has released preliminary details about the upcoming third generation of the B3 Bi-Turbo which is based on the latest BMW 3-Series (F30). Scheduled to make its public debut at the beginning of next month during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, the B3 will be powered by an uprated version of the turbocharged 3.0-liter engine which will be capable of outputting 410 HP (310 kW) between 5,500 rpm and 7,000 rpm.

This engine will be mated to a new eight-speed automatic gearbox developed by ZF which will allow the hot sedan to complete the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in approximately 4 seconds.

The 2013 Alpina B3 Bi-Turbo is not only more powerful and quicker than the model it replaces, but it will also be significantly more fuel efficient as Alpina has announced it will consume 20 percent less fuel. In other words, expect a fuel consumption of only 7.9 liters / 100 km (35.7 mpg UK or 29.7 mpg US).

More information about the German performance sedan will be disclosed in early March so stay tuned for additional details about Alpina’s newest generation of the B3 Bi-Turbo which some people consider it as an alternative to the M3.
