2013 Buick Encore will go on sale early next year, starts at $24,950
General Motors has put a price tag on the upcoming 2013 Buick Encore which is scheduled to go on sale in Q1 2013. The entry-level model will set you back $24,950 (including the $750 destination charge). You don’t have the possibility of choosing from a list of engines as the crossover will be available exclusively with a rather underpowered 4-cylinder, 1.4-liter turbocharged engine that produces 138 hp and has a peak torque of 148 lb-ft. It returns an EPA-certified 28 mpg in the combined cycle. If you want the power to be sent to all four wheels, prepare to pay an extra of $1,500. The base model comes nicely equipped with goodies such as a 7-inch full color display radio, 18-inch alloys, rearview camera and QuietTuning with Bose Active Noise Cancellation.
Moving up the lineup and we find the $25,760 Convenience Group trim that brings fog lights, remote start, auto-dimming rearview mirror, 120-volt outlet and a dual-zone climate control. For more money you can opt for the $27,460 Leather Group that includes all the equipment mentioned before and adds heated front seats, driver’s seat memory functions, power passenger seat, heated front seats and steering wheel, along with leather upholstery.
There’s also the top-spec $28,940 Premium Group which brings a cargo net and area cargo mat, seven-speaker Bose sound system with subwoofer, rain-sensing windshield wipers, Forward Collision Alert with Lane Departure Warning, as well as front and rear park assist. Optional equipment available for all trim levels includes 18-inch chrome-clad wheels ($995), navigation system ($795) and a sunroof ($800).
