2013 Ford Fiesta debuts
The Blue Oval company has decided to reveal the refreshed Fiesta which has to face some pretty big competition from other models such as the Peugeot 208 and the Renault Clio. The Fiesta is now in its sixth generation and has received a welcomed facelift after the 2008 introduction.
It will be shown at the Paris Motor Show later on this year where it will bring its new Aston Martin-inspired front grille that will also be seen on the new Mondeo and the C-MAX Hybrid. It will come with more tech equipment like Ford SYNC, Active City Stop and MyKey.
There’s also a new engine choice in the form of the popular 1.0-liter EcoBoost unit with 99 HP (74 kW) or 118 HP (88 kW). Those interested in a more economical version can get the 2013 Fiesta with a 1.5-liter diesel that produces 74 HP (55 KW). Let’s not forget about the hotter Fiesta ST with its beefier 1.6-liter EcoBoost that generates 177 HP (132 kW) and a tweaked chassis.
Aside from the new look of the front grille, the updated Ford Fiesta has been fitted with LED daytime running lights installed within the headlamps, while the tail lamps have received new graphics. Inside the cabin there aren’t any major changes, but we do notice the new location of the buttons for the exterior mirrors and electric windows on the driver’s door. Expect these changes to come on the North American version of the Fiesta as well.
