2013 Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 FL2 racer unleashed
Lamborghini has teamed up once again with German-based Reiter Engineering to work on the GT3 version of the Gallardo. The new model is based on the 2013 Gallardo and will compete in the 2013 and 2014 GT3 seasons. The Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 FL2 has been equipped with improved engine cooling, braking system and it also has lower fuel consumption in comparison to the model it is set to replace in motorsport competitions. There’s also a more efficient aero kit that brings a new look to the front splitter along with a rear carbon diffuser which is actually based on the one fitted to the Super Trofeo variant of the Gallardo.
It is also important to mention that the new model is 55 lbs (25 kg) lighter than the 2012 model. Sales of the 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 FL2 are expected to start in March for European and Asian customers. The car costs 320,000 euros plus any other taxes applicable. It is set to compete in various racing events such as the Italian GT3 Championship, Blancpain Endurance Series and the Asia Le Mans Series.
The company’s GT3 program includes customer cars and Super Trofeo, and all of them will be overseen by the firm’s own motorsport department – Lamborghini Squadra Corse.
