2014 BMW 4-Series Convertible official photos hit the web
These are the first official images depicting the upcoming 2014 BMW 4-Series Convertible. Technical specifications are not available at this moment but most likely the engine and gearbox lineups will be carried over from the coupe with virtually no changes. As a consequence, expect to see a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged engine outputting 240 bhp and a larger more powerful 6-cylinder, 3.0-liter mill good enough for 300 bhp. When fitted with the bigger engine, the 4-Series Convertible will probably need around 5.5 seconds to complete the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) task and should hit an electronically-capped top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
As far as the design is concerned, there’s nothing much to report since the car looks essentially like its coupe cousin with the obvious exception of the retractable metal roof. We assume the car will be showcased to the public for the first time at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show scheduled for next month.
