2014 BMW M5 surfaces ahead of official launch

A BMW employee has “accidently” uploaded the 2014 M5 facelift configurator ahead of the programmed debut. The slightly revised model has been fitted with a redesigned front grille sporting bigger vertical slats which look similar to those seen on the M6. In addition, the headlights have also been mildly tweaked. On the inside it appears to have a slimmer steering wheel, along with an updated iDrive controller that seems to be touch-sensitive. The V8 4.4-liter twin-turbo will be carried over with most likely the same output: 560 HP (412 kW) and 502 lb-ft (680 Nm) of torque.

However, chances are BMW is planning to offer the revised M5 with an optional Competition Package which will increase output to about 575 HP (423 kW). This package will also contain bespoke 20-inch rims, an updated M Dynamic Mode and a sportier suspension setup.

The 2014 BMW M5 facelift will hit the market later this year and at home in Germany it will allegedly have a starting price of 103,300 EUR.
