2014 BMW X5 launched
BMW has introduced last night the new generation of the X5 which will go on sale before the end of the year. The updated SUV comes with an evolutionary design packing an aerodynamic front bumper, more prominent front grille and can be equipped with LED adaptive headlights at an additional cost. Inside there are more premium materials and a slightly better design with a freestanding iDrive display, LED ambient lightning and several glossy black accents. Since the new model has grown in size, now there’s more room inside the cabin while the cargo area can store up to 66 cubic feet (1,870 liters).
BMW will be offering upon launch the X5 xDrive50i powered by a V8 4.4-liter twin-turbo mill rated 450 HP and 650 Nm. There’s also the xDrive30d with a 6-cylinder, 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo diesel engine churning 258 HP and 560 Nm. The third model available is the M50d which has a tri-turbo 6-cylinder, 3.0-liter diesel generating 381 HP and 740 Nm.
