Japanese carmaker Honda has revealed the 2014 Accord Hybrid which comes with LED daytime running lights, several blue exterior accents, bespoke alloy wheels, hybrid badging and a rear spoiler. On the inside it gets a specially developed display showing the status of the hybrid system as well as the instant fuel economy of the car. For more money it can be configured with an eight-inch i-MID display, perforated leather seats and a rearview multi-angle camera. It’s scheduled to hit the United States market in October, with pricing to be revealed before that.
Under the hood there’s a two-motor hybrid system with a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle engine and an electric motor generating 166 bhp (124 kW). Honda says the 2014 Accord Hybrid is capable of returning 49 mpg in the city, 45 mpg on the highway and 47 mpg in the combined cycle, which should be a class-leading fuel economy.
