2014 Hyundai i10 revealed
You are looking at the second generation of the Hyundai i10 which was revealed online today by the South Korean automaker. The car will get its public debut next month at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, with production kicking off within the same month in Izmit, Turkey. Looking significantly more refined than the outgoing version, the 2014 i10 has grown considerably in size as it is 80mm longer and 65mm wider than the model it replaces. In addition, it also has been lowered by 50mm and provides 10% more cargo room so the trunk now has a capacity of 252 liters which is not too bad for such a small car.
According to Hyundai, the second-gen i10 provides an 1890mm combined front and rear legroom which they say it’s the best in this class. This is thanks to an elongated 5mm wheelbase which has made the cabin more spacious than it was on the first-gen version.
Hyundai didn’t go into any details as far as motorization is concerned, but various reports are indicating the car will be offered with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine and a 1.25-liter four-cylinder mill, both of them running on gasoline.
The interior cabin is likely to feature cruise control, heated and leather-covered steering wheel, climate control, plus safety equipment like stability control and front curtain airbags.
