2014 Kia Optima facelift makes New York debut
Kia has revealed to the New York public the 2014 Optima facelift which comes with slightly updated front and rear ends, along with LED fog and positioning lights, plus LED tail lamps. The rear diffuser and sweeping trunk lid have also been tweaked, while inside it has gained a 4.3-inch instrument cluster. For more money clients have the possibility of adding a high-resolution, 8-inch screen and an 8-speaker sound system from Infiniti. The revised Optima provides support for UVO eServices, HD Radio, Satellite Radio and SiriusXM Traffic 4. It can be equipped with a modified Blind Spot Detection System featuring rear cross traffic alert and rear parking sensors.
The base LX variant comes equipped with 16-inch alloys, dual chrome tips, front fog lights, chrome door handles and solar glass. EX adds leather seats, illuminated cup holders, 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and 17-inch rims. SX rides on 18-inch wheels and is fitted with different front/rear lower bumpers, aero wiper blades and side sills. SX-T has 18-inch chrome rims, LED fog lights, HID headlights, red brake calipers, electronic parking brake and Nappa leather seats.
A 2.4-liter GDI engine is fitted to the LX, EX and SX variants, while the range-topping SX-T makes use of a 2.0-liter GDI turbocharged mill. These two power units work together with a six-speed automatic gearbox.
